Amdocs Optima is a division of Amdocs and the name of its digital customer management and commerce platform designed for communication service providers, Mobile virtual network operators/Mobile virtual network enablers, and transportation, finance, and utilities markets. The company sells a diverse set of products and services to consumer and enterprise customers.[1]. Amdocs Optima offers SaaS-based business models[2], responsive web design, and an omni-channel customer experience.[3]
History
Launched in September 2016[4], Amdocs Optima evolved from Amdocs Compact Convergence, Amdocs Kenan, and Amdocs C1 products. The solution includes converged pre- and post-paid business support systems, a cloud-deployable architecture, multi-tenancy, and support for multiple lines of business and complex Business-to-Business (B2B) customer models.
Solutions
The Amdocs Optima solution provides converged billing and rating (subscription, consumption, or usage-based), financial management, customer management, and order management.[5] The virtualized infrastructure enables multi-tenant support and can be deployed in a public cloud (Amazon Web Services and others), private cloud, or on-premise. Amdocs Optima includes an integration layer built on Red Hat JBoss. The business integration layer enables REST-based application programming interfaces exposing user interface (UI) components to enable integration with external technologies. The Amdocs Optima Web UIs adhere to the responsive web design approach and are designed using HTML5, CSS3, and React technology.
According to MGI 360 Ratings, Amdocs Optima's billing platform “offers a lot of functional depth with capabilities for real-time billing, session control for pre-paid usage scenarios, hierarchy management, invoice customization, and global 24/7 support”. The publication estimates that Amdocs Optima's working prototypes can be enabled quickly while full implementations are 9+ months.[6]
