Anavila Misra
Anavila Misra is an Indian fashion designer known for her work in sustainable and contemporary fashion. She is the founder and creative director of her eponymous label Anavila.
Biography
Early life and education
Anavila Misra was born and raised in Lucknow, India. She completed her Bachelor's degree in fashion design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)[1], New Delhi.
Career
After completing her studies, Anavila started her career in fashion as a design trainee with designer Abraham & Thakore in Delhi. She then went on to work with designer Manish Malhotra, where she honed her skills in draping[2] and embroidery[3].
In 2011, Anavila launched her own label, which focuses on creating sustainable[4] and contemporary fashion[5]. Her designs are known for their use of natural fabrics such as linen, cotton, and silk, and her signature style is minimalistic, earthy, and sophisticated.
Anavila's collections have been showcased at various fashion events in India and abroad, including Lakme Fashion Week, Amazon India Fashion Week[6], and the International Fashion Showcase[7] in London. Her work has been featured in leading fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle.
