Andrew Govender (born in South Africa) is an actor and model with an actuarial background based in Los Angeles. In 2012, he won the title of Mr. South Africa 2012, making him the first Indian to win this title.[1][2][3]
Early Life
Andrew Govender grew up in Johannesburg. He has four siblings, one of whom is his twin. He was scouted into modelling at the age of 16 when he was in a shopping mall. In 2004, Andrew achieved six distinctions when graduating from Glenvista High School.[4] He also holds an Honours Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of the Witwatersrand. Upon winning the title of Mr. South Africa 2012, he also went on to participate in Mister World 2012.[4][5][6]
Acting career
Andrew Govender made his feature film debut in *Free State*, set in the 1970s South Africa based on interracial relationships during Apartheid.[7][4]
