Angel Gil Orrios (born October 7, 1956) is an American director, writer, producer, and set lighting designer. He has been serving as the executive director of the Thalia Spanish Theatre in New York since 2000.[1]

Career

Gil Orrios serves as the artistic executive director of the Thalia Spanish Theatre in New York since 2000.[1]

His major career highlights include "The Ladies of Avignon," which won 2 Hola Awards and 6 ACE Awards including Best Director and Best Production,[2] and a bilingual adaptation of Calderon’s "The Great Theatre of the World" which won 4 HOLA Awards and 2 ACE Awards, including Best Production and Best Director.[3]

He also directed the dance in All That Tango! which is a tango music starring the master bandoneón player Raul Jaurena and three tango-dancing couples who are also accompanied by singing and piano and violin music.[4]

On June 14, 2022, he appeared as a guest at the Arts and Cultural Affairs Committee meeting welcomed and introduced by Karesia Batan.
