Bruce Piasecki is an American author and environmental specialist.[1] He is the founder and incumbent president of the management consulting firm, AHC Group.[2] He has also served as a director at Lally Management Center, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.[3]

Piasecki has also served as an editor of The Journal of Corporate Environmental Strategy.[3]

Early life[edit]

Piasecki received his bachelors and PhD from Cornell University.[4]

Career[edit]

Piasecki has served as an associate professor of environmental management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.[5][6] He also has taught at Clarkson University.[7]

In 1990, he published his book, In Search of Environmental Excellence: Moving Beyond Blame, along with Peter Asmus, which received Nature Society Book of the Year Award.[3]

In 1995, he published his another book, Corporate Environmental Strategy: The Avalanche of Change Since Bhopal, which was reviewed by Booklist.[8]

In March 2012, Piasecki published his book, Doing More with Less: The New Way to Wealth, which later was included in The New York Times Best Selling list and USA Today's best-selling books list.[9][10] It was also included in The Washington Post's Book World bestsellers list and Publishers Weekly best-seller list.[11][12]

In 2016, he published his another book, New World Companies, which focused on corporate employees and the environment.[13]

Awards[edit]

  • In Search of Environmental Excellence (1990) was selected by the Library of Congress as one of the top 50 books on environment in the 20th Century. Gregg Easterbrook, in his monumental book A Moment in Time, listed this book in the top 40 general books on the environment.
  • For his work in education innovation, Piasecki was awarded a pioneer in education award by Jonathan Lasch of the World Resources Institute.
