Angela Fan is a research scientist at Meta AI in Paris focusing on machine translation.[3]
Biography[edit]
Fan has a PhD from INRIA Nancy on text generation and a Bachelor in statistics from Harvard.[4]
Research[edit]
Fan research deals with generating Wikipedia articles using AI.[5]
In particular, generating biographies of marginalized groups, such as women from Africa or Asia and women who work in science. The AI model not only allows to reduce the gender bias by helping to generate articles; it also helps to address the bias in the content of the biographies.[6][7]
Publications[edit]
Fan has written or contributed to several academic articles focused on machine translation and text generation.[8]

Recognition[edit]
In 2012, Fan received an ISEF Science Award, that recognizes innovations by teens, for her research on root growth.[2][16][17][18]
