Aniruddha Roy is an acclaimed Indian music composer, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Born in a Middle-Class Hindu Joint Family, Aniruddha has made significant strides in the music industry with his unique compositions and diverse musical talents. His contributions have earned him recognition both nationally and internationally. He is the first Indian to have won the Best Artist in the EDM/Electronic Genre at the DJOOKY Music Awards 2020.
Early life and Education[edit]
Aniruddha Roy, born and raised in Jamshedpur, pursued his engineering degree from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT). Despite not coming from a musical family, his passion for music led him to formal training in piano and keyboard at Sangeet Samaj, a music academy in Jamshedpur, under the guidance of Mr. K. Rao.
Musical Journey[edit]
Aniruddha's musical journey took a notable turn in 2020 when he was awarded the Best Artist in EDM/Electronic Genre at the DJOOKY Music Awards, making him the first Indian to receive this prestigious international honor. His award-winning song, "Tribe Within," showcased his prowess in blending electronic elements with tribal influences, creating a hypnotic and groovy experience for listeners.
In 2021, Aniruddha collaborated with fellow musicians Swapnil Roy Chowdhury and Snigdhadeep Nag to produce the Indie Rock song "Sach Ki Talash." Released on World Music Day, the song combines classical and modern elements, reminiscent of Coke Studio productions, and features vocals from Swapnil Roy Chowdhury, Sougata Paul Choudhury, Asmita Banerjee, and Ahana Ghosh.
International Performances[edit]
Aniruddha's musical journey extends beyond India, with international performances in South Korea and Japan during his college days. Notably, he performed in Seoul and Busan in 2016 and continued to showcase his talent in Busan, South Korea, and Fukuoka, Japan, in 2017.
Achievements and Awards[edit]
Apart from his DJOOKY Music Award, Aniruddha Roy founded the unique choir "KALINGA AVATAR – The Indian Tribal Choir." Under the mentorship of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), this choir explores Aniruddha's keen interest in tribal music.
The Diary of Inspiration[edit]
In 2024, Aniruddha Roy announced the release of his new album, "The Diary of Inspiration," on June 11. The album, comprising eight songs titled Genesis, Desire, Drive Life, Journey, Identity, Impetus, Jolly, and Souvenir, reflects Aniruddha's emotions, experiences, and unique style of blending Indian soundscapes with electronic elements. The album is set to be available on major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, JioSaavn, and YouTube Music.
