Mukesh Singhmar is an Indian musician and songwriter based in New Delhi, India. He is best known as the founder of Delhi based Hindi Rock and Fusion band AntarDhvani.[1] He started his music by playing popular country covers during high school in the late nineties, and later picked up diverse guitar playing styles from both Indian & Western music, the blend of which can be heard in AntarDhvani’s unique Indo-Western fusion sound.[2]
Early life and education[edit]
Mukesh is born and raised in New Delhi, India. He attended Hansraj College where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.[3] Later he went to Faculty of Law, Delhi to pursue LLB. It was while studying law that he met lyricist Nishant and composed first of AntarDhvani's songs, 'Socha Na Tha'.[4]
While at Hansraj College, he was a member of the college music and theater society. For the college theater society's annual production, two years in a row he composed background score which earned him a 'certificate of merit' for excellence in theater music production.[5] Along with Sumeet Anand, during a particular year, he won over 15 inter-college music competitions at various colleges across Delhi and a few other North India States. Some of the notable colleges where they won were BITS Pilani, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Daulat Ram College (DRC), Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) and Ramjas College.
After few years of playing popular covers in college circuit, in the year 2007, he started doing original music and founded AntarDhvani collaborating with Sumeet Anand and Ravee Kulsari.[6]
