The Professional College of Computer Technical Engineers of Aragon (in Spanish Colegio Profesional de Ingenieros Técnicos en Informática de Aragón), is a public law corporation formed by graduates of Degree in Computer Engineering, Technical Engineering in Computer Science existing in Aragon.

In 2005 was created the Professional Association of Computer Engineers in Aragon.

On 2018 September 20, the law 12/2018 creating the Professional College of Computer Science Engineers of Aragon was approved unanimously by the political groups of the Cortes of Aragon, which was initially published on 2018 September 20, in the Official Gazette of Aragon.[1], and, on November 7th, in the Official State Gazette[2]

On 2018 October 7th, was created the management commission for the creation of the Professional College of Computer Engineers of Aragon.[3]

On 2018 November 24th, was held the constituent assembly, from which the first Governing Board is elected, headed by Eduardo Peris, who becomes the first dean of the Professional College of Computer Engineers of Aragon.[4]

On 2019 June 17th,  the dean of the school is elected to preside over the General Council of Official Colleges of Technical Engineering in Computer Science of Spain (in Spanish Consejo General de Colegios Oficiales de Ingeniería Técnica en Informática de España) to which it belongs since its inception.

On 2019 October 25th,  the Professional College of Technical Engineers in Computer Science of Aragon becomes part of the alliance for the strategic development of the infrastructure of Aragon.

On 2020 June 4th, the Government of Aragon, from the Department of Industry, Competitiveness and Business Development, through the Aragonese Institute of Development, grants the RSA seal of Social Responsibility to the Professional College of Computer Engineers of Aragon. To obtain this, it is necessary to apply transparency in management, and integrate practices with an ethical, social and environmental commitment.

This professional college is located in calle Mártires Nº2 in Zaragoza.

Purposes[edit]

The essential purposes of the Professional College of Computer Engineers of Aragon are established in article 8 of theirs General Statutes:

  1. The organization of the profession, within its scope of competence and the appropriate legal framework, for the benefit of both society and the general interests of its own.
  2. The defense of the professional interests of the members and to hold the exclusive representation of the exercise of the profession in the Community of Aragon.
  3. The protection of the interests of consumers and users of the services of its members.
  4. Monitor the exercise of the profession, facilitating knowledge and compliance with all kinds of legal provisions that affect it, enforcing professional ethics and proper deontological standards.
  5. To ensure the adequate level of quality of the professional services of the members.
  6. Procure harmony and collaboration among members and between them and other professionals.
  7. Foster professional solidarity and promote the progress of Technical Engineering in Computer Science and the Degree in Computer Engineering and the increase of the skills and prestige of the profession.
  8. Collaborate with Public Administrations in the exercise of their powers, in the terms provided by law.
  9. Cooperate in the improvement of official university studies that lead to obtaining the degree or adaptation curricula to them.
  10. To promote, by itself, or through collaboration with third parties, research, development and innovation (R & D & I) in the field of information technology and related technologies.
