Arash Aminpour is an American attorney specializing in Corporate / M&A transactions, Tax law, and Private Equity advisory, and is the founding and managing partner of Aubrey Payton, a Washington, DC–based Business strategy law firm.[1] Aminpour previously served as Chief Legal Officer to DELVE, a Multinational Ad Technology Corporation.[2][not in citation given]

Early life and education

Prior to entering the legal profession, Aminpour served as a Team Leader and Combat Engineer in the United States Army. Aminpour earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Economics from the University of South Florida, a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation, with honors, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.[citation needed]

Career

After graduating from law school, Aminpour joined KPMG's Mergers & Acquisitions team as a Tax Attorney in its Atlanta, Georgia offices.[3] Aminpour would later join Michael, Best & Friedrich, LLP, a national, 166th of 200 AmLaw, corporate law firm, as a lead tax advisor with a special focus on guiding corporate clients on executive compensation strategies and arrangements.[citation needed] At Michael Best, Aminpour advised emerging growth companies, private equity funds, and multinational corporations on the tax aspects of incentive arrangements, deferred compensation, partnership profit-interest grants, and cross-border transactions.[3][not in citation given]

In February 2022, Aminpour was named Chief Legal Officer of DELVE, a measurement-first advertising consultancy headquartered in Boulder, Colorado.[2][not in citation given] In that role, he oversaw all legal, compliance, and administrative affairs, and developed internal policies to support the company’s rapid global expansion.[2][not in citation given]

In January 2025, Aminpour founded Aubrey Payton, a Washington, DC–based Business strategy law firm.[1] In his current practice, Aminpour advises Middle-market and Emerging companies on complex transactions—including strategic acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings, and exits—with a focus on optimizing tax efficiency and ensuring regulatory compliance.[1]
