Architecture Discipline is a multi-disciplinary architecture design practice based in New Delhi.[1][2][3][4] The firm is known for designing the “Make in India” Pavilion at the Hannover Messe 2015 in Germany,[5] which was selected as the best Pavilion in the 65 years history of the MESSE.[citation needed]

History[edit]

Architecture Discipline was founded in 2007 by Akshat Bhatt.[6][7][8][9][10]

In 2019, the firm partnered with and designed a co-working space for The Common Room Foundation, a non-profit based in Delhi's Dhan Mill compound.[11]

In May 2020, the company developed sChoker, a neck brace device inspired by Choker for social distancing. It comes with an infrared-based smart warning system that alerts the wearer when other people get too close. It is lightweight and made with carbon fibre.[12][13][14][15] In the same month Architecture Discipline also conceptualized the Capsule for Automated Transit (CAT), a prototype of automated pod vehicles for rapid, personal public transit. The vehicles enable physical distancing and are fitted with sanitization capabilities for travel during the pandemic.[16][17]

The firm also developed the idea of recycling shipping containers into makeshift hospitals and community medical centres after refurbishing them with the necessary medical technology to meet the increased need of medical infrastructure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.[18][19][20]
