Aria Jin (Chinese: 金子涵; born 5 February 1999) is a Chinese singer, dancer, television host and actress. She first gained recognition as a child artist in China and later in the United States through various talent competitions. Currently, she is a member of the girl group NAME under Yuehua Entertainment, and she was formerly part of the temporary group 172Girls.
Early life
Aria Jin was born on 5 February 1999 in Jinan, Shandong province, China. During her early childhood, she suffered from severe pneumonia on two occasions. To help boost her health, her parents enrolled her in dance classes, and by the age of six, her natural talent and dedication led her to become a well-known child star locally.[1]
In 2007, she participated in the third Chinese Art Ceremony for children, winning gold medals in both the vocal and dance categories.[2]
In 2008, she made her television debut in the series "Thank You for Your Love", playing the role of "Xiaoguoguo", the daughter of the male lead.[3]
Later, in July 2010, she performed at the opening ceremony of the Shandong activities during the Shanghai Expo, marking one of her early public appearances.[4]
In 2011, Aria Jin relocated with her family to New York City.[1] Initially, she faced challenges such as the language barrier and social exclusion at school.[5] However, after transferring to other schools and attending weekend dance classes at a Manhattan arts centre, she gradually adapted to her new environment.[1]
