Arif Mahmud Kisana (Urdu: عارف کسانہ‎) (born 24 June 1964) Sweden based urdu columnist, journalist and an Administrative Manager of Stockholm Study Circle.

Early Education[edit]

He received his early education from Chonda and Koriki district of Sialkot. He studies from 6th standard to 10th in Azad Kashmir Government Pilot High School Bhimber and completed his matriculation in the year of 1980. He passed his FSC (pre-medical) from Government Murray College Sialkot. After his 4 years professional graduation degree from the Agricultural University of Faisalabad, he then passed Punjab Public Service Commission exam and started a job as a veterinary officer in 1988. He earned his MSc degree from College of Veterinary Sciences Lahore (now known as the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences) in 1990. While staying in Lahore, he received certificates and diplomas in Kashmiri language and literature from Oriental College of Punjab University with the "Silver Medal" award in certificate course. he has also done Qari course and Arabic language diploma of one year from the Agricultural University of Faisalabad. He also appeared as a private student in BA and MA (history) at the Punjab University Lahore. Later in 1995, came to Sweden where he received Post Graduate Diploma in embryology from one of the well-known medical university, Karolinska Institute Stockholm and done few other courses.

Professional State[edit]

He worked as a veterinary health officer for six years in Pakistan, later done a similar kind of job in Saudi Arabia for a year. He is associated with Karolinska Institute in Stockholm in the field of Medical Research Department of the Genetic leading medical university since 2001.One must know that Karolinska Institute is one the famous University of Sweden and around the world who has to select Noble Prize winner every year in Physiology and Medicine. He was also elected as a General Secretary of the tutorial group at the Agricultural University of Faisalabad. Meanwhile, keep writing in various newspapers and magazines.

Journalistic career[edit]

He started writing properly when reached Sweden and joined The Jang (London). He got the popularity among readers by his Northern Europe News and Diary of Sweden. As a columnist, he is writing for a number of publications other than The Jang (London), like The Daily Azkar Islamabad, Daily Kashmir Express Muzaffarabad, Daily Udan Jammu and many other daily newspapers. He is attached with The Daily Ausaaf (London) and working as a bureau chief in Sweden and frequently writes a column in The Daily Ausaf (London) and The Urdu Qasid Sweden[1] every Saturday. He has also worked for Geo News from Stockholm for two years. He also writes articles and blogs in Express and Dawn news, one of the famous publications. With the cooperation of the Foreign Ministry, he is a member of the Foreign Press Association. His passion for writing makes him busy to provide a fresh column to the readers in the light of Iqbal. He has created interesting and unique stories for children, which was later published by one of the official department of Government of Pakistan called National Book Foundation Islamabad with the titled "Sabaq AAmoz Kahaniyan[2]". Due to the popularity of the book, it has been translated into English, Hindi and Norwegian.
