Art Fact was a Synthpop/Minimal wave band formed in 1986, from Stockholm, Sweden. The band was composed of Måns Jonasson, Anders Ljung, Jonas Embring and Olle Söderström.

When Jonasson, Söderström, and Embring were classmates in middle school in Stockholm in the 1980's, the band was formed together with Ljung. During the first few years the young band experimented with creating electronic music with very limited equipment in a style that has later become known as Minimal wave. In 1990 their first release was out on cassette, titled "In Fact"[1] containing the song "Rain in the South", which became the band's largest success, many years later.

In 1991 the second cassette, "Nowadays"[2], was released, and in the following year "The Nuclear Princess"[3] which would be the band's final official release. Art Fact also contributed to two compilations with Swedish synth-pop from the label Memento Materia.

In 2012 the Swedish label Dödsdans Rekords released a double album on vinyl with the best of the old Art Fact material, "And the Seasons Changed"[4]. In the same year, the song "Rain in the South" was featured on the compilation "Hidden Tapes"[5][6] from the American label Minimal Wave Records, which for the first time brought Art Fact to a wider audience. The song has since been featured on several unofficial compilation tapes and CDs.

The band was temporarily reunited during 2013 and 2014 to perform a number of shows, including the festival "Kalabalik på Tyrolen" in Småland, Sweden. The band updated the sound of the old songs which led to a final release, "Closure"[7] out in 2016.
