Arun Shankar(born 1 Aug 1993) is an Indian Actor, singer, director, lyricist, writer and producer[1]. He is the recipient of the National Film Awards for his 2016, psychological short fiction film ‘The Chameleon’[2].

Early and personal life[edit]

Arun Shankar was born, Arun Shankar Mohan on 1st August 1993 in New Delhi, India. Son to Parents Shankar Mohan and Prabha Shankar. Arun grew up in Delhi, completed his formal education from K.R. Managalam world school and went on to pursue his degree from Delhi college of arts and commerce, before getting into acting he was active as a singer and had his own school band.[3] In an interview to a leading publication he said he faced a lot of struggle and rejections before he made it as an artist in Bollywood[4][5]

Career[edit]

Arun started off as a model while pursuing his graduation in Delhi. While working as a ramp model for shows like AWI and Lakme, Arun was offered work as an actor in TVC’s by ad filmmaker/director V. K. Prakash for brands like Malabar Gold, KCP cement, SBI[6][7][8]. Arun went on to act in several tv commercials before making his Malayalam debut in director Jayaraj Malayalam movie Camel Safari[9][10][11]. In 2015 , Arun made his first short fiction film, which was based on the mental condition of bipolar disorder, he won the National Film Awards in 2016[2]. Arun came out with his debut single, The song titled ‘Hidayat’[12] in In 2018, which was released by Zee Music Company and went to touch more than 4 million views[13][14]. Arun is currently working on his next single in a collaboration with Grammy Awards winner Ricky Kej for his album [15] [16][17] Arun featured as a Rapper along with Neeti Mohan in the song Hum[18][19] [20][21]The song starred television actor Pooja Banerjee and Ruthvik Reddy [22][23][24]. Arun has announced three feature films with different genres that he would be launching under his banner Arun Shankar Productions[25][26][27][28]. Arun would be introducing new comer Ruthvik Reddy, in Hindi cinema through his next film[29][30][31]
