Arvind Raghunathan

Arvind Raghunathan (born 1963) is the founder and CEO of Roc360.[1][2] He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai with a degree in engineering.[2] Raghunathan emigrated to the U.S. and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a Ph.D. in computer science in 1988.[2] From 1988 to 1991, he was an assistant professor at U.C. Davis and at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University.[2]

Raghunathan worked at Credit Suisse First Boston from 1992 until 1995 when he was hired by Deutsche Bank.[3] In 1997 he returned to Credit Suisse until 1999 when he rejoined Deutsche Bank for the second time.[3] He became a managing director and head of the global arbitrage division at Deutsche Bank AG.[2][3][4] In 2009 he founded the hedge fund Roc Capital Management LP and was the CEO until the company closed in 2013.[2][3][4] In 2014 Raghunathan founded Roc Capital, a capital provider for private lenders to small and middle-market real estate developers.[5] In 2020, the business announced the formation of Roc360, a holding company planning to launch a suite of additional products and services in property insurance and title insurance.[5]

Raghunathan lives in New York City with his wife, Sribala Subramanian, a former journalist at Time magazine, and their two children.[6] The Arvind Raghunathan Professor of South Asian Studies at Columbia University is named in his honor.[7]
