Santosh[1] Kumar[2] (born 29 August 1987), also known by his stage name Aryan Santosh[3], is an Indian actor[4], producer[5], television personality and a philanthropist. Started his career as a model in Chennai, featuring in ad campaigns for Nivaran 90, Metlac Paints, Citibank Suvidha, Lipton Tea and Hyundai. After a short stint in theatre and being a Radio Jockey for SS Music, Chennai, made a foray into mainstream cinema with the Malayalam film titled Lanka with superstar Suresh Gopi and Prajapathi with megastar Mammootty. Soon, owing to his vibrant nature and challenge-driven mindset, he found a firm foothold in Kannada films with his first performance in 2006 with the film “Kallarali Hoovagi[6]” directed by national award director T. S. Nagabharana.

He went on to spend the few years working with noted directors and leading co-actors before making his debut as the main lead in 2010 with the critically acclaimed director, Nagathalli Chandrashekhar in Noorajanmakku[7]. The film shot in an urban setting, dealt with the trials of young professionals during recession and how they emerge stronger through troubled times. Aryan is also an avid philanthropist and leads an independent initiative called ‘Volunteers of India Foundation’ with members from all walks of life working towards betterment of society[8] at large. They actively flung into action during the recent COVID lockdown reaching basic food and amenities to over 1000 families across the state of Karnataka. They also ran a special campaign to provide refreshments to the brave policeman on duty across Bengaluru city during the lockdown and continue to extend their support to all law enforcement agencies.

Early life

Born on 29 August 1987 in an Ottapalam Nair family, Aryan was brought up in Bengaluru and proudly carries the badge of a true blue ‘Bengalurean’ and is fluent in not just Kannada and Malayalam but also in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. A commerce graduate by education, he also has a certificate in international management from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. Post his education, he worked across many multi-national companies, before his true passion drove him to the entertainment and film industry. He also has his own film production company, Winterbridge Studios[9] that specializes in novel scripts and believes in creating magic through their movies. Their first production, ‘Dear Sathya[10]’ is slated for release soon and have three other films in the pipeline, the first of which is expected to go on floors in early August.

After having acted for over a decade, Aryan would soon be seen in his upcoming action thriller[11], ‘Dear Satya[12]’ later this year. The film is directed by Shivaganesh, known for his top grossers Jigarthanda and Adrishya.
