History[edit]

Khan recalls in 2010 that he had found a discarded shopping bag with some kittens in it, which inspired him to take them home and care for them, bringing them to the vet the next day. He would educate himself about animal care and ask advice from experts.[3]

In 2015, his efforts were recognised by Voice of America and BBC, and was given the nickname of Robinhood.[3]

Khan created an NGO called Animal Care Trust Bangladesh.[3]

He has expanded his operation to include dogs. As of May 2022, he had 53 cats and dogs in his residence.[3][4]

On September 29, 2022, Robinhood sued a rickshaw puller for beating 5 dogs to death in Narsingdi and fought a legal battle in the District Judicial Court.[6]
