Ashish Vijay (born 17 July 1981) is an Indian entrepreneur and businessman based in the United Arab Emirates. He is the founder and chairman of the AV Group, a conglomerate with interests spanning luxury jewellery, real estate, technology and other sectors.[1] Ashish Vijay is known for his work in the global gemstone industry and his role in advancing digital platforms for gemstone trading.
Early life and education
Ashish Vijay was born on 17 July 1981 in New Delhi, India, into a family with a longstanding history in the gemstone trade. His family has been involved in the gemstone business for over 75 years. He pursued a degree in commerce at Motilal Nehru College, part of the University of Delhi.[2]
Career
Ashish Vijay relocated to Dubai to expand his business interests, focusing initially on high-end gemstones and fine jewellery. He gained recognition for sourcing rare and investment-grade gemstones, leading to the development of multiple ventures under the AV Group umbrella.[3][4][5][6]
Ashish Vijay founded AV Globale, a company that hosts global gemstone auctions and markets luxury jewellery to an international clientele. As part of its offerings, AV Globale launched Collector’s Chest, a digital platform that facilitates cross-border online bidding for high-value gemstones and collectibles.[7][8][9]
In 2022, Ashish Vijay acquired a 1.01-carat fancy rare red diamond, which he named the Scarlet Chakra. The diamond was unveiled at a private showcase in Dubai. In 2023, he purchased another notable stone, the AV Rose, a 1.05-carat fancy purplish red diamond certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), which debuted at an international jewellery exhibition.[10][7][11]
Professional affiliations
Ashish Vijay serves as a director of the Dubai chapter of the International Colored Gemstone Association. He is also a member of the Forbes Business Council, a global invitation-only community for successful business leaders and entrepreneurs.[7][12][13]
Ashish Vijay was recently recognized by Entrepreneur Middle East as one of the top Indian Visionaries who has played an important role in shaping UAE's future.[14]
