Audi FAW NEV Company (Chinese: 奥迪一汽新能源汽车有限公司), commonly known as Audi FAW, is a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Changchun, Jilin Province. Established in 2021 as a joint venture between German automaker Audi and Chinese state-owned FAW Group, it is majority-controlled by Audi.[1]
History
The company was formally registered on 25 March 2021 with a registered capital of RMB 5.267 billion. The equity structure comprises Audi AG (55%), FAW (40%), and Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (5%).[citation needed]
In June 2022, construction began on the Audi FAW NEV Smart Ecosystem Factory in Changchun, with total investment exceeding RMB 30 billion.[2][3] The first pre-series Audi Q6L e-tron rolled off the line in January 2024, followed by official series production commencement on 17 December 2024.[3][4]
Manufacturing
The company operates the Audi FAW NEV Smart Ecosystem Factory, a facility that produces battery electric vehicles.[3]
