As a connoisseur of world cinema, who believes in quality before quantity, he ensures the audience in the South of India have exposure to quality movies from Hollywood and Bollywood by distributing them down south. He is also a prospective film producer who owns the production house - Theme Lendi productions.
History[edit]
Auraa Cinemas first distributed the American film “Red Dawn” in the year 2012.
“Unakenna Venum Sollu” is the first Tamil movie distributed by them. The movie is a horror-thriller, based on some real life incidents,[1] keeping with the latest trend in Tamil cinema.
They also distributed “Masala Padam”,[2] a Tamil movie starring Shiva, Bobby Simha and Gaurav.[3] The movie is about a producer who challenges a bunch of social media reviewers who have torn his recent masala film to come up with a good script in six months [4]
“Uppu Karuvaadu” tends to be the breakthrough for Auraa Cinemas. It is a Tamil drama film directed by Radha Mohan, starring Nandita and Karunakaran in leading roles. It received positive reviews upon release. Behindwoods gave 2.5 out of 5 and concluded "A decent flick that could crack you up!.[5] The Indian Express mentioned "With more positives than negatives, Uppu Karuvadu is certainly a fun film!”[6]
Other movies lined up for distribution include Anjala & Oru Pakka Kathai.
Anjalaa helmed by Thangam Saravana is a Tamil movie starring Vimal, Nandita and Pasupathy in important roles.[7] It has music by Gopi Sundar. Oru Pakka Kathai is also a Tamil movie by Balaji Tharaneetharan[8] who is known for his first film “Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom” which was a huge success.
