BIPS (Bitcoin Internet Payment System) was a payment service provider that allowed its users to accept online bitcoin payments. One of the largest European bitcoin payment processors, BIPs headquarters was based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In 2013, the company lost 1,295 bitcoins (then worth around US$1 Million) from its own wallet as well as money from “several” consumer wallets. in an online theft.
In 2014, the company was acquired by Coinify.
