BIPS (Bitcoin Internet Payment System) was a payment service provider that allowed its users to accept online bitcoin payments.[1] One of the largest European bitcoin payment processors, BIPS headquarters was based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In 2013, the company lost 1,295 bitcoins (then worth around US$1 million) from its own wallet as well as money from “several” consumer wallets.[2] in an online theft.
In 2014, the company was acquired by Coinify.[citation needed]
