Bad Harvest
Bad Harvest is the second episode of a spin-off series. Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, Erica Sinclair, Eleven, and Max Mayfield rush to save Nikki Baxter from the monument. They brawl it out with the monster, which results in the monument nearly eating Mike until they realize that the monument does not attack as long as they don't look at the monument, it won't attack any of them. Nikki finds what just happened weird and accuses the other kids of being "sorcerers." They decide to knock Nikki out and take her to her own house. Inside Hawkins Laboratory, Martin Brenner carefully observes a new gate opening and blames Daniel Fischer for it. Brenner observes that the mines are not producing any new monsters and posts it on social media. Eleven reads this and realizes that these monsters are not from the mines. Dustin decides that to be able to find out more things, he would start a club named Delhi Indian Clubloving Kids, and that since they would be in a club, they would technically be allowed to skip school. They drag Nikki's body to her house and they tie her up to a chair, avoiding Anna Baxter while going there. When Nikki wakes up, she gives the other kids the advice to watch the mouth, not the hands, and drools her way out of the ropes. Suddenly, Dustin is approached by Rosario Guillen, who disapproves of the Delhi Indian Clubloving Kids club, and then leaves. Nikki and the other kids listen to this confrontation, and Nikki starts getting bored and begs the other kids to allow her to play Mario. Elsewhere, Danny McCorkle and Ella McCorkle wave their grandpa Eugene McCorkle goodbye, when all of a sudden one of the radishes pops out of the ground, revealed to be a mandrake. Danny is afraid and Ella decides to shove it back into the ground, but then they realize that all of the radishes in their farm are all mandrakes! Dustin sees this happening and decides that he wants to investigate this, but right at that moment, a sloth eats Dustin, causing the other kids to be shocked. Everybody but Max and Erica chases the sloth, and Max tells Erica that they should just go to the farm. Elsewhere, Mike runs into Charlie Dandrige, who is traumatized from the bramble smacking his nose, and does not know where Jeff Nelson is. Mike leaves to join Nikki, Will, and Eleven to chase the sloth at the town park, where they lose track of the sloth's location. Defeated, they decide to go to an event currently going on at the town hall, where he and Eleven fall victim to the rigged carnival games. Erica and Max investigate the bad harvest, but then all of the mandrakes hop onto them, causing them to have to fight back. Erica takes a scythe and starts slashing at all of them, when the real owner of the scythe grunts at them and starts slashing all the mandrakes. It is revealed that he was Ella and Danny and their sister Sally's father. Meanwhile, at the festival, Grampy Eugene arrives and starts farming lotus flowers. Mike pays a visit and plants a lotus from Grampy, and he decides that to pay Grampy for the lotuses, he would give him some pies from the pie eating contest. However, they accidentally destroy all of the pies, causing Rosario to pass out of shock.
