Mandrake

Mandrake is a threat you can encounter in The Outdoors.

Method

Mandrake will spawn inside of every room that does not qualify under these qualities:

1. Eyestalk and Bramble do not appear inside of the room
2. Surge is not attacking (You have not seen yellow lightning or a yellow Groundskeeper)
3. The room has no Snares

If Mandrake appears, it will start making an annoying sound, signaling that you should hide in a closet. If you are not in a closet within five seconds, your game ends. You can also deal with a mandrake by entering a room with groundskeeper while a mandrake is still attacking you.

Strategy

Professional players usually mark out the closest closet while opening the next doors, so they can possibly make a run for it if the next room has no closets. Sometimes, professional players will also run to the next room to possibly have a groundskeeper spawn and stab the mandrake. Professional players also figured out that if you carry the mandrake, the time changes from five seconds to one minute before your game ends.

Information

Mandrake will instantly end your game if you do not hide in a closet within five seconds. Mandrake appears exclusively inside of the outdoors subfloor and the Trick or Treat Vision.
