History
The Bangla Tigers are a professional T10 cricket franchise that competes in the Abu Dhabi T10 league. Founded in 2019, the team was established to represent the Bangladeshi diaspora in the United Arab Emirates.[1] The franchise is owned by Yasin Chowdhury, Chairman of the FMC Group of Companies.[2]
The team made an immediate impact in their debut season (2019), finishing in 3rd place after winning the third-place playoff match. Since then, they have been a consistent participant in the playoffs, known for their high-intensity gameplay and strong following at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.
In 2023, the franchise expanded its global footprint by acquiring teams in the Zim Afro T10 (Joburg Bangla Tigers) and the Lanka T10 League (Hambantota Bangla Tigers).[3]
