Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet is a comedy podcast created and hosted by siblings Christine and Alexander "Xandy" or "Alex" Schiefer.

Format

The show features the siblings dramatically reading online reviews of businesses, products, films, television shows, companies, and other reviewable mediums from websites such as Amazon, Google Maps, Tripadvisor, Common Sense Media, Yelp, and Glassdoor. The podcast's website describes the content as:

"Is your beach too sandy? Water too wet? Ice too cold? More importantly, do you feel like yelling about it on the internet? We're here to help. Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet features dramatic readings of one-star reviews written by people who just need to have their voice heard."

Despite the description seemingly indicating the podcast only features one-star reviews, reviews with any number of stars are read, with positive reviews (four to five stars) referred to as "redemptions". Accompanying each recitation is a background of "deliciously cheesy dramatic music".

Initially, the first half of episodes were focused on a certain type of business in a specific city in the United States, such as hotels in Kansas City, Missouri or car washes in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The second half had one of the siblings completing a challenge to find certain kinds of reviews, such as ones where the reviewer was upset employees were being too nice to them or reviews of McDonald's restaurants that mention sex. While the challenges were kept, over time the restriction of reviews to a single location were used less in favor of reviews of types of businesses in any location.

The siblings initially picked out episode topics and challenges themselves, but as the podcast grew in popularity fans began submitting them instead, eventually leading to the use of fan-submitted prompts almost exclusively. Monthly specials titled "Between You and Us", where fan-submitted reviews of a variety of topics are read, are released alongside original episodes.

In addition to Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet, Christine has a solo podcast: And That's Why We Drink, co-hosted with Em Schulz. Alex also had a solo podcast titled Human Seeking Human, co-hosted with Liz Collins, but it was cancelled in February 2022.

Comparisons have been made between Beach and other comedy podcasts such as Endless Thread, Let's Stop There, and Dirt Cheap.
