Benjamim Mota, also spelled Benjamin Motta (full name Benjamim Franklin Silveira da Mota), was a journalist and anarchist born in Brazil, in the city of Rio Claro, in São Paulo on January 2, 1870. He was the founder of the anticlerical newspaper A Lanterna in 1901.[1] Coming from a family of jurists, he was also a lawyer, graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo. He counted Neno Vasco and Edgard Leuenroth as friends and collaborators, among other libertarians from the early 20th century. He died on December 10, 1940.[2]
