Benjamin Jackson (artist)
Benjamin Jackson is a multi-hyphenate (artist-actor-musician-vocalist-photographer-mobile DJ-journalist) & Creative Professional.
Early Life[edit]
Jackson was born in Faribault, Minnesota. A lifelong artist, he appeared in his first musical theatre production in at the age of 7. He began playing guitar at the age of 9. When he was 10, he had poetry published in the Young American Poetry Digest[1] after his teacher submitted some of his writing to a national publisher. Model-actress Kuoth Wiel & Jackson attended high school together.
Education[edit]
After graduating high school, Jackson attended McNally Smith College of Music as a Bachelor of Music - Performance student.
Awards[edit]
Jackson was the recipient of the 2009 Society of Professional Journalists "Peter S. Popovich Freedom of Information" Award.[2] The Award is given by the board of the Society of Professional Journalists annually to the person or organization that exemplifies the fight for First Amendment rights.
The award, SPJ’s most prestigious, honors the life of Peter Popovich, a legislator, jurist, and tireless advocate for First Amendment rights.
