Benjamin Wyatt Szerlip is an American osteopath and orthopedic surgeon who authored the book titled ''Comprehensive Orthopedics: A Modern Approach''. He specializes arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. Szerlip is also cofounder of the Austin Shoulder Institute.[1]
Education
Szerlip graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, then earned a bachelor's in biology from The College of Wooster (2004) and a medical degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine (2009). He completed post baccalaureate training in clinical research at the National Institutes of Health and an orthopedic surgery residency in Cleveland.[2]
Research
Szerlip authored several research publications and book chapters, focusing on shoulder replacement technologies, and arthroscopic rotator cuff tear repair. His work has been presented at national medical conferences, contributing to the understanding of innovative shoulder surgeries. He has also served as a reviewer of manuscripts for orthopedic journals.[3]
