Da'Jour Walker[1] (born 1996/1997),[1] better known by his stage name BigWalkDog, is an American rapper from Tutwiler, Mississippi.[2] He is currently signed to Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane's 1017 Records, as well as Atlantic Records. His album Trick City (2022) reached number 125 on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.[3][4]
Early life[edit]
Da'Jour Walker was born to Daphne Tyler and JoNathan Walker.[1] He grew up in Tutwiler, Mississippi, and listened to Gucci Mane and many other Southern rappers.[2] He attended West Tallahatchie High School and graduated in 2015.[1]
Career[edit]
In 2020, BigWalkDog began releasing his debut single "Pull Up".[2][4] In May 2021, Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane gave BigWalkDog a chain after signing him to his 1017 record label alongside Atlantic Records.[1][2] BigWalkDog later released a single with Gucci Mane, titled "Poppin", which appears the latter's album Ice Daddy.[2][4] In December 2021, BigWalkDog appeared on Mane's album So Icy Christmas on the tracks "Motion" and "Son of a Gun"[5] In August 2022, he was featured, in conjunction with Peewee Longway, on Mane's single "Gelati".[6] In September 2022, BigWalkDog appeared on another single by Mane—"Red Flag"—which also features BiC Fizzle.[7] Also in September, he released his debut studio album, Trick City, with guest performances by Gucci Mane, Big30, Lil Baby, and Pooh Shiesty.[8] In October 2022, it peaked at number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and 125 on the US Billboard 200.[4][3]
