Over time, BLISS has changed their drummer around quite a bit. Brian Dugan was a founding member, creating the original drum part for 'Someone for You'. Ava later played the part on the 2023 recording, tweaking it a bit. After Brian, came Alex Edgar who was in the band from April 2022- July 2022. After Alex, BLISS's current drummer Ava entered the band, July 2022-present. BLISS came a long way from their original sound and member count initially.

In 2023, BLISS recorded their first song 'Someone for You' under the production of Ethan Russell. There is no set meaning to 'Someone for You', interpret it how you choose.

BLISS continues to be a tight-knit family.

Early Days[edit]

When BLISS was first formed, the band had no idea what success they would have in the future before them. Meeting in guitar class, Brian, Shawn, and Brett had the idea to create a band. With Ethan joining very shortly after, BLISS was created. Shawn switched from guitar to bass, becoming the bassist of BLISS who would later create the basslines for all of their originals. Brett started learning guitar and ended up being BLISS's rhythm guitarist and vocalist. Ethan was chosen to be lead guitarist in the band. Brian would then be the drummer for the short time he was in the band.

Brian left shortly after their first gig at North Schuylkill Junior/Senior highschool due to creative differences. Then the band began searching for a new drummer and stumbled upon Alex in April of 2022. Alex would later play his first gig, a fundraiser for Ukraine, at North Schuylkill Junior/Senior highschool. And then the summer began. BLISS played a few gigs in Schuylkill County and one just a bit outside of it in Mt.Caramel.

Alex then left the band in July of 2022. The band first met their current drummer at one of their gigs. Ava had gone to BLISS's gig at the Kelsey Theatre in July just to check out the band. About a week after BLISS would ask her to join the band.

Musical Style[edit]

BLISS can be described as a punk rock, alternative, grunge, or even pop punk band. BLISS's songs vary sound and genre-wise from song to song. The band finds that if there is a difference per song, more people will enjoy it.

'Someone for You' is more of a pop punk style. From it's catchy melody and upbeat words to the overall vibe of the song, 'Someone for You' is very catchy to the listener's ear.

'Candyman' is more of a grungy, nu-metal feel. A song with a dark meaning, 'Candyman' addresses child abduction and getting kidnapped. The lyrics of the song tackle the meaning of the song. The bass intro and lights drums that turn heavy set the tone and overall vibe of the song. Many audience members tend to love this song.

'Its Alright' is a very upbeat alternative track. With repetition and a fast tempo, audience members can really feel the vibe of the song.

'Fly' has a sort of 80's hair metal ballad to it and also a grittiness to it. With a fluctuating volume, many people can't help but bop their heads along.
