Bob McMahon (politician)
Robert Aloysius McMahon, Jr. is the mayor of Media, Pennsylvania.[1] He was first elected mayor in 1992.[2]
McMahon is a veteran of the Vietnam War. After returning home, he became one of the planners of the first Veteran's Day parade in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,[3] and a co-founder of the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum.[4] He is the chairman of the Veterans Legacy Project, which aims to educate and raise awareness of the contributions of United States war veterans, and which produces the only social studies curriculum endorsed by PAIUNet, a network for Pennsylvania educators.[4] He is also chairman of V-NEP, the Veterans National Education Program,[5] a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to educate students on modern military history through eyewitness accounts.[6]
