Bolti Nadi Initiative

Bolti Nadi Initiative is a non-profit which is active in the area of drought prevention and watershed management in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.[1] The organization was founded by a group of young personals in Chhattisgarh in 2017.[2] The primary aim of the initiative is to spread knowledge of Protection and cleanliness of rivers. The initiative has been started organizing through the 'Idea for Save River', collects creative ideas of youth through programs like dialogue, writing, workshop, etc. also made documentary films by the organization in 2019, the documentary film named Bolti Nadi - Into the Sakri River Basin, which has done a detailed research on water label, animal, agricultural impact and historical aspects as well as sampling all the contact villages located on the river. This film has been made by walking about 90 km from Kariyama, the first village of the origin of the river Sakri River (Chhattisgarh), from district Kawardha to the river's immersion site, village Darhi, district Bemetara district, The Sakri river merges with the Half river in village Darhi.[3][4]

In 2017, Bolti Nadi organized workshops, film exhibitions, writings, seminars and debates in over 150 institutions in 16 districts of the state of Chhattisgarh. More than 5 lakh youth of the state participated in this. The 'Idea for Save River' for the protection and cleanliness of rivers was discussed, the best ideas of these youth were also sent to the Prime Minister by letter. Ideas were sought for how to keep rivers safe by visiting various schools, colleges and universities of the state. The inititive supported by more than two hundreds of non-profit-organizations in Chhattisgarh.[5]
In 2019, Bolti Nadi was initiated in rural areas of Chhattisgarh. In which by running an awareness campaign in the rural areas adjoining the rivers, the environment was first made aware of the damage. Along with this, a documentary film was made while walking 90 km on the river bank, the purpose of this film was to bring the attention of intellectuals, environmental lovers and organizations from all over the world towards Chhattisgarh.
