Bradley Lewin (born March 4, 1995), better known by his stage name VETA, is a British electronic dance music producer, musician, vocalist and composer from Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
He gained success from his 2018 remix of Osmo's "Party Up" featuring vocals from Spencer Ludwig, which currently has over 100,000 streams on Spotify.[1] He has released music on several records labels including Warner Music Group[2], Simplify Recordings[3], Perfect Havoc, CLUTCH Records[4], Delicute, Kaiser Records, iDeep Sounds[5], Plasma Chill Records, Old Ghost Records and Barely Legal Music Productions. He founded Barely Legal Music Productions in 2016 with his brother Mitchell Lewin as an independent platform for releasing music and creating live shows.[6]
Early life[edit]
Bradley grew up in Shrewsbury and graduated from The Grange School, Shrewsbury. He gained a BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology Shrewsbury College then a Higher National Diploma in Music Production. During this time he started the electronic music project VETA after hearing Kygo's Here for You featuring vocals from Ella Henderson.
He completed his Undergraduate degree in 2016, studying Sound Production at the University of Wolverhampton.[7]
He also worked at Shrewsbury Academy and built up his own music lessons, teaching children to play guitar.
Career[edit]
VETA began making music in 2015 after buying a laptop, a copy of FL Studio and with his musical knowledge from playing guitar he made his first single. This gained him some success, motivating him to release more music.
VETA released his debut EP on Plasma Chill Records, including the songs "Summer Haze (Thinking Of You)" and "The Vault". This gained airplay on BBC Radio Shropshire[8] and he received features from music blogs about his Kygo, Matoma inspired sound.[9]
In 2017 he made the move to incorporate Future bass into his already stamped Tropical vibe, combining musical genres. Later that year he released I Need You with Zenon Beatz on Simplify Recordings.[10] The track has gained over 400,000 plays on YouTube.[11]
He was contacted by Warner Music Group to construct a remix of Osmo's new single "Party Up" featuring vocals from Spencer Ludwig.[12] The track went on to gain international success, receiving airplay from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Brazil and Italy. The remix was released on 2 March 2018 as a co-release with Perfect Havoc and Warner Music Group.[13]
Later in 2018 he released the single "Where'd You Go" on Simplify Recordings.[14] In December 2018, "Where'd You Go" was featured in the Simplify Recordings Best of 2018 album.[15]
VETA's next single titled "Memories" is scheduled for release in February 2019. The artwork features pictures from his childhood.[16]
