Brandon Ramirez is a Filipino-Canadian professional basketball player for the NLEX Road Warriors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Originally a 3x3 player, he represented the Philippines in various FIBA 3x3 competitions. In 2023, he joined the MCFASolver Tech Centrale of PBA 3x3.
After the league was shelved, he moved up to 5v5 basketball when he joined the Pampanga Giant Lanterns of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), where he would win a championship with the team in 2024.
Earlier that year, during in the PBA season 49 draft, he was selected by NLEX with the 18th overall pick. He would later sign with the team in December.
Professional career
FIBA 3x3 and PBA 3x3
In 2022, Ramirez was among the players who are part of the Chooks-to-Go-sponsored 3x3 team for FIBA tournaments.[1] On October 10, 2023, Ramirez then joined the expansion team MCFASolver Tech Centrale of PBA 3x3.[2]
Pampanga Giant Lanterns (2024)
After the PBA 3x3 league was shelved, Ramirez made the move to 5v5 basketball when he joined the defending champion Pampanga Giant Lanterns of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.[3] Mostly coming off the bench, he averaged 5.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, helping the team win back-to-back championships in the 2024 MPBL finals.[4]
NLEX Road Warriors (2024–present)
On July 1, 2024, Ramirez declared for the PBA season 49 draft, where he would later be selected with the 18th pick by the NLEX Road Warriors.[5] Due to his contract with the Giant Lanterns, he would wait until December 18 that year before officially signing with the team on a two-year deal.[3][4]
