Early life and education
A native of California, Tiongson initially played hockey in his youth until he was 12 or 13 years old before switching to basketball due to the steep expenses involved in playing hockey. He played basketball for his high school team, standing 5'2" as a freshman. He became a starter mid-season in his first season.[1]
When he started college, he was already 5'10" tall. He attended Citrus Junior College, then moved to Utah Valley University where he redshirted for a season before moving to Biola University. He secured a full scholarship at Biola in his junior year. At this time, he was already 6'4". He peaked in his senior year, where he averaged 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, was named to the All-Conference team, and received an honorable mention as an NAIA All-American.[1]
Professional career
After playing for Biola, Tiongson participated in the 2016 NBA draft but was not drafted by a team.[2] He made his professional debut with the Chong Son Kung Fu of the ASEAN Basketball League.[1]
