Michael John Garcia[1][2] is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

After playing his collegiate career with Systems Plus College Foundation, Garcia entered the professional ranks with the Pampanga Delta of NBL–Pilipinas before moving to the Pampanga Giant Lanterns franchise of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and Pilipinas Super League (PSL). During his time in the grassroots, MJ won six professional championships across all leagues, three with the Delta in NBL–Pilipinas, and three with PGL in the MPBL and PSL.

In 2023, he was drafted by Converge with the 72nd overall pick of the PBA season 48 draft and would sign with the team in 2025 following his Giant Lanterns stint.

Pampanga Delta (2021–2022)

Coming out of Systems Plus, MJ began his professional career with the Pampanga Delta of the homegrown-focused NBL–Pilipinas.[3] He was part of the team that won three consecutive titles from 2020 to 2022, where he played alongside the likes of Justine Baltazar and Encho Serrano.[4][5]

Pampanga Giant Lanterns (2022–2024)

In 2022, Garcia moved up to the Pampanga Giant Lanterns, playing for the team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League and Pilipinas Super League. While with PGL, he won three more professional championships, two in the MPBL and one in the PSL. He had his best-performing season in 2024, averaging 7.7 points, 4.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.[3]

During the PBA season 48 draft, he was drafted by the Converge FiberXers during the eighth round with the 72nd overall pick.[6][7] However, Garcia remained with the PGL franchise. He eventually signed with Converge on January 18, 2025.[3]
