Brazil Singh[1] (born 25 May 2002) is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur and the director of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, a non-profit organization whose aim is to support and enable the development of freely-reusable geospatial data.
Early life
Brazil grew up in Magura District and for higher studies he moved to Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Career

Brazil studied computing science at Eastern University (Bangladesh)[2].
In July 2024, he was selected as a Youthmappers Leadership Fellow and in 2025 he became the Regional Ambassador in Asia.[3] In January 2025, he became a voting member of Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team.[4] In September 2025, he was appointed as a Board of Director at Openstreetmap Foundation.[5]
Personal life
Brazil Singh is an active contributor to Openstreetmap, he is known as Open Mapping Guru[6], where his efforts have played a crucial role in training communities, hosting mapathons, and responding to disasters. His passion for mapping has led him to actively participate in mapping projects and disaster response initiatives.
