"Break Your Heart Right Back" is a song recorded by American singer Ariana Grande featuring American rapper Childish Gambino from Grande's second studio album My Everything. It was written by Andrew Wansel, Bernard Edwards, Christopher Wallace, Donald Glover, Kirby Dockery, Mason Betha, Nile Rodgers, Sean Combs, Steven Jordan and Warren Felder. This song samples The Notorious B.I.G.'s Mo Money Mo Problems and Diana Ross' 1980 song I'm Coming Out.

Background[edit]

Ariana tweeted a lyric from this song "my baby loves me" on May 1 and June 9.[2][3] Originally, A$AP Rocky Did both the verses on "Hands on Me" and Break Your Heart Right Back, but they preferred another rapper.[4]

Lyrics[edit]

Lyrically like "I'm Coming Out", this song is about a guy who cheats on a girl for another guy. Grande said she is 99.9% sure that this happened to her before.[5] This spread rumors that she was talking about her ex boyfriend Jai Brooks, but she cleared the rumors.[6]
