BrickSlopes is a LEGO fan event in the United States which consists of a private AFOL convention and public exhibition. It is held annually for (AFOLs)Adult Fans of LEGO, [TFOL|(TFOLs)Teen Fans of LEGO} and other LEGO fan hobbyists in Sandy, Utah[1]. BrickSlopes is open 2-3 days, generally Thursday through Saturday, in the first couple of weeks in May. BrickSlopes provides an opportunity for hobbyists to share their creations with one another and the public.[2]
Private convention[edit]
The private convention attracts adults and teen LEGO Fans[3]. The convention provides registered AFOLs and TFOLs table space to display their Lego Creations with the public, as well as access to workshops, panels discussions, building tips and tricks, LEGO-themed games and contests a venue to share their LEGO creations with the public. Registered attendees receive a swag bag containing an event brick, one or more small LEGO sets, an event exclusive mini-figure, vendor and or sponsor giveaways, and other giveaways.[4]
Public exhibition[edit]
The public exhibition provides younger fans and the public a chance to play and interact with LEGO bricks in new and fun ways. Public attendees view the models displayed by convention attendees and participate in other LEGO-related activities. These activities include: playing in the BrickPit, Building and racing cars built from LEGO bricks. Hunt for Mini-Kits hidden among the various displays, interact with fan builder's and attempt a LEGO Fire Walk. Vendors are also on hand selling new and out of production LEGO sets, mini-figures.[5]
At the time the event produces special comics,[6] or may host world record attempts, as it did in 2018 when AFOL attendee Cory Mitchel attempted to walk the farthest distance barefoot on LEGO bricks.[7]
