BrickSlopes is a LEGO fan event in the United States which consists of a private AFOL convention and public exhibition. It is held annually for (AFOLs) Adult Fans of LEGO, (TFOLs) Teen Fans of LEGO and other LEGO fan hobbyists in Sandy, Utah[1]. BrickSlopes is open 2–3 days, generally Thursday through Saturday, in the first couple of weeks in May. BrickSlopes provides an opportunity for hobbyists to share their creations with one another and the public.[2]

Private convention

The private convention attracts adults and teen LEGO Fans[3]. The convention provides registered AFOLs and TFOLs table space to display their LEGO creations with the public, as well as access to workshops, panel discussions, building tips and tricks, LEGO-themed games and contests, a venue to share their LEGO creations with the public. Registered attendees receive a swag bag containing an event brick, one or more small LEGO sets, an event exclusive mini-figure, vendor and/or sponsor giveaways, and other giveaways.[4]

Public exhibition

The public exhibition provides younger fans and the public a chance to play and interact with LEGO bricks in new and fun ways. Public attendees view the models displayed by convention attendees and participate in other LEGO-related activities. These activities include: playing in the BrickPit, building and racing cars built from LEGO bricks, hunting for Mini-Kits hidden among the various displays, interacting with fan builders, and attempting a LEGO Fire Walk. Vendors are also on hand selling new and out-of-production LEGO sets and mini-figures.[5]

At the event, special comics are produced,[6] or world record attempts may be hosted, as it did in 2018 when AFOL attendee Cory Mitchell attempted to walk the farthest distance barefoot on LEGO bricks.[7]
