Bridgit Inc. is a Canadian software company that develops software for the construction industry.[1][2] Bridgit was founded in 2014[3] and is headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario.[4]

History[edit]

Bridgit was founded by Lauren Lake and Mallorie Brodie in 2014.[5]

In 2019, the company raised $6.2 million in a funding round led by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) Capital Women in Technology Venture Fund.[6] In 2020, Bridgit raised $9.4 million in a funding round led by Autodesk.[7][8] Canada’s federal government also invested $750,000 in Bridgit as part of its FedDev initiative supporting women in technology.[9]

In 2019, The Globe and Mail recognized Bridgit as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies.[10] The outlet also recognized Bridgit in its 2020 version of the same list.[11]

Lake and Brodie have appeared on several lists of top Canadian entrepreneurs. Forbes listed the pair on its list of top Canadian innovators under 30[12] as well as its Forbes 30 Under 30 for Manufacturing & Industry list.[13]

Bridgit Bench[edit]

Bridgit Bench is the company’s construction resource management and workforce planning software, as well as Bridgit’s flagship product. It helps contractors with capacity planning, forecasting, progress tracking, workforce utilization reports, and more.[14] Bridgit Bench was introduced in 2019.[15][16] In the same year, it was announced that the software would be integrated with that of Procore, another construction software company.[17] In 2020, it was announced that the software would also be integrated with that of Autodesk Construction Cloud.[18][19]

Bridgit Field[edit]

Bridgit Field is a program for tracking worker productivity on the job site and handling things like punch lists and inspections.[20] Bridgit Field was the company’s original software offering.[21]
