BrightCHAMPS is an educational technology company headquartered in India, which provides life skills training to students in the K-12 age category.[1]

On the BrightCHAMPS website & mobile application, students can enroll for online courses in 4 subjects - Coding, Robotics, Financial Literacy and English Communications.[2]

There are 3 packages offered in Coding & Financial Literacy, 4 packages in Robotics & 4 course branches in English Communications.[3]

BrightCHAMPS is currently operational in 30 countries like India, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, the United States of America, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, South Africa, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Nigeria, Lebanon, Australia, among others.[2]

BrightCHAMPS was founded in July 2020 by Ravi Bhushan, an engineer, angel investor, and advisor.[4]

The learning platform first launched its Coding course in UAE, and subsequently expanded to India, South East Asia and Middle East in 2021.[5]

In July 2021, the company raised $12 million in Series A Funding from 021 Capital, GSV Ventures, Beenext, and other Angel Investors.[6]

In October 2021, the company raised $51 million in Series B Funding from Premji Invest, GSV Ventures, 3State Capital, and Beenext.[7]

In December 2021, BrightCHAMPS acquired Education 10x, a gamified live-learning platform for financial literacy for students in the K-12 segment, in a cash and stock deal.[8]

The company launched its Robotics course in April 2022 and called it RoboCHAMPS.[9]

In September 2022, the company acquired Schola.tv, a Singapore-based ed-tech platform with live classes in English communications & Science.[10]

BrightCHAMPS was awarded the Emerging Edutech of The Year and the Edutech CEO of the Year by Business World in August 2022.[11]

The company was also listed at Rank 2 in KPMG-HSBC's 100 Emerging Giants in Asia Pacific.[12]

In October 2022, BrightCHAMPS instituted the BrightCHAMPS Global Curriculum Advisory Board with Gurcharan Das, Rajen Sheth, Jack Buckley, Deborah Quazzo and Sreejit Chakraborthy. The board was set up to make curriculums more inclusive for students with neurodivergent learning needs.[13]

Products and Services[edit]

BrightCHAMPS currently offers the 4 courses of Coding, Robotics, Financial Literacy and English Communications to students in the K-12 category. [14] The company's course methodology is based on the principles of invisible learning and AI-enabled adaptive learning.

The Coding course is divided into the age categories of Little Champs (Grades 1 to 3), Junior Champs (Grades 4 to 6), and Senior Champs (Grades 7 to 10). Little Champs includes classes on coding fundamentals, app development, game development, scientific exploration, Codimath, Tinkercad 3D, AR/VR, design thinking, HTML/CSS and Microbit. Junior Champs covers more advanced Coding concepts including machine learning, and Python advanced. Senior Champs trains students in electronics, circuits, sensors, Arduino, Python programs, web development, Javascript, and data visualisation.[15]

The Robotics course is categorised across 4 levels, Spirit Course, Opportunity Course, Curiosity course, and Perseverance course, based on breadth of topics covered, modules included, projects assigned and robotics kits provided.[15]

The Financial Literacy course is divided into 3 packages of 30, 60 and 150 live classes respectively. The Beginner Course of 30 classes introduces students to money and finance management, banking, insurance and basics of investing. The Foundation Course of 60 classes covers hands-on-equity, cryptocurrency and early entrepreneurship. The Certification Course of 150 classes teaches advanced investment concepts, advanced cryptocurrency, and hands on entrepreneurship.[15]

The course of English Communications allows students to choose combinations of 3 tracks in Cambridge English, Communications, Presentation & Public Speaking, and IELTS training. The 4th track of this course covers English for Working Professionals.[15]

In February 2023, BrightCHAMPS launched ‘Money Lessons’, a gamified guide on financial literacy for kids aged 6 to 16, in the form of a graphic novel and a mobile application. The launch was led by Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal.[16]

BrightCHAMPS Global Curriculum Advisory Board[edit]

In December 2022, BrightCHAMPS established the Global Curriculum Advisory Board, chaired by Deborah Quazzo, Managing Partner at GSV Ventures, and joined by technology and business leaders such as Gurucharan Das, author, management guru, and former CEO of Procter & Gamble India, and Jack Buckley, Vice President of People Science at Roblox. The BrightCHAMPS Global Curriculum Advisory Board is a self-regulated, independent Advisory Board.[13]

BrightCHAMPS Next-Gen Hubs[edit]

In February 2023, the e-learning company launched an offline centre in Vietnam. Dubbed by BrightCHAMPS as “Next-Gen Hubs”, the 1st offline centre opened in Ho Chi Minh City providing hybrid STEM-accredited classes for K12 students.[17]

Funding & Acquisitions[edit]

As of February 2023, BrightCHAMPS is valued at $650 million.[18]

So far, the company has raised 2 rounds of funding, the total value of which is $63 million. BrightCHAMPS raised $12 million in Series A Funding from 021 Capital, GSV Ventures, Beenext, and other Angel Investors, in July 2021.[6]

In October 2021, the company raised $51 million in Series B Funding from new and existing investors, including Premji Invest - private equity investor, GSV Ventures - edtech focused Venture Capital firm based out of the US, Binny Bansal - investor and co-founder of Flipkart, Bangalore-based 021 Capital, and Singapore based BEENEXT.[7]

In January 2023, BrightCHAMPS made it to GSV's 150 List of the world's most transformational growth companies in digital learning and workforce skilling, for the 2nd consecutive year.[22]
