Interval Learning is an Indian multinational Edtech company in india.[1] headquartered in Areekode, Kerala. Founded by five friends Sanafir OK, Shibily Ameen, Najim Illyas, Aslah Thadathil, and Ramees Ali. Interval serve over 40,000 students across 150+ cities worldwide.[2][3] In 2023, Interval was acknowledged by Nirmala Sitharaman Finance Minister of India.[4]

History

Interval started in 2018 as a small effort to help students in their hometown who had difficulties with reading and writing. Over time, it grew and spread across Malappuram, Kerala, as more people began to benefit from the support it offered. The demand for its tutoring services soon extended beyond India, prompting a shift from a home tuition model to an online learning platform. The team also began developing their mobile and web applications.[5]

By 2021, Interval Learning was officially established as an e-learning platform headquartered in Areekode, Kerala. Under the leadership of then-CEO OK Sanafir, the company expanded into Dubai, growing its customer base across the Arab world. During this period, Interval launched "Little Genie," its online Montessori program.[6]

During the 2023-2024, Interval appointed Ramees Ali as CEO and its leadership team. The company established a new 30,000 sq. ft headquarters in Areekode, Kerala, employing 200 people, and was recognized as one of the Top 23 Startups in Kerala by Headstart and the Kerala Startup Mission. Interval also gained international attention, being selected by the Consulate General of India, Dubai, to pitch at Elevate, and receiving mentions from Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for representing India at the Talent Boost Program in Finland. Additionally, the company expanded its educational offerings to over 1,000 courses across five key verticals.[7]

Funding

Interval Learning raised funding of 2.5 crore over 1 round and ₹2.25 crore in a pre-seed fundraising round two years back, with prominent angel investors from the UAE leading the investment.[8][9]
