Brillux, an independent family-owned company, is a German paints and coatings manufacturer. The customer base includes professionals from the fields of painting and plastering, but also architects and planners as well as housing industry representatives.
History[edit]
The company was established in 1889 as a specialist business for paints and coatings under the name Hobrecker & König in Münster, Germany. Over the years, it integrated 35 production and wholesale companies. Then in 1974 the company took over the first paint manufacturer in Germany – J.D. Flügger of Hamburg. On acquiring the Ruhr paintworks in 1979, the company also made its move into the industrial coating sector. In 1984, Herberts architectural paints was also taken over, ensuring access to business in south Germany. The company was renamed Brillux the very same year. Brillux has been manufacturing its own products since 1948 and has had its headquarters on Weseler Straße in Münster since 1967.[3]
Corporate structure[edit]
Brillux has now been owned by the König family for four generations, is headquartered in the westphalian city of Münster and runs further production sites in Herford, Unna and Malsch. Brillux runs more than 180 sales offices in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and Switzerland. Production capacity totals 340,000 tons per year. The distribution center offers storage capacity for over 60,000 Euro-pallets.[4] Brillux has more than 2,500 employees.
Product range & services[edit]
The Brillux range of products comprises 12,000 items and includes paints, glazes and coatings for both interior use and facades, filler materials, renders, wall and floor coverings, special systems for heat insulation, concrete protection and repair as well as professional tools and (protective) clothing for all areas of painting work.
