Hegelmann Group, or just Hegelmann, is a German multinational logistics service provider based in Bruchsal, Germany, specializing in flexible and express transport services. The company boasted impressive growth of 900% from 2010 to 2017.[1], making it one of Europe's fastest-growing logistics companies. This consistent growth was achieved by expanding their fleet (MAN[2], Mercedes-Benz[3], DAF[4]), expanding their services, and opening new offices[5] and warehouses[6] throughout Europe.
History
In 1990, the Russian-German Hegelmann family relocated from Kazakhstan to Germany. Before emigration, Georg Hegelmann, one of the founders, had worked as a driver during the Soviet era. In his early German years, he also drove trucks, but his employment company moved, and he lost his job. This led him to found his own logistics company with his brothers.[7] In 2004, following earlier expansions in Portugal and Poland, Hegelmann opened their first office in Lithuania. A new Polish office opened in 2011, and Siegfried and Anton were appointed CEOs in 2010.[8] Hegelmann then began to grow into a significant player in the European transport market. By 2019, Hegelmann operated in 26 offices across Europe.
Operation
The Hegelmann Group primarily handles European logistics operations by land. Their time-sensitive, non-stop express transportations, often using two-driver teams in one truck, have gained them renown in the European transport sector.[9]
