Brittany Nicole Pfantz [1] is a singer-songwriter from Louisiana. Born April 6, 1991 in DeRidder, Louisiana. Brittany has developed a style with a variety of soul, blues, folk, reggae, and a touch of rap.
Brittany began her career in music later than most, in early 2013. She was 22 years old when she discovered her voice. Through a series of events, including traveling abroad, she realized music was her passion. Brittany began doing gigs in 2014 and pursued music full-time starting in 2015. In 2014 she released her first EP, Free Birds,[2] produced by Ton Molinari, in Brazil. There is some definite Brazilian influence in that EP. She released a single "Merman" in 2015 shortly after, it was acoustic and done in one take, produced by Justin Martindale. Her second EP, I Shall Climb This Mountain, was produced by Matt Moss in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and released in March 2017. Her music video for I Shall Climb This Mountain was recorded in Denver, CO.[3]
In 2016 she was placed in the top 10 of 715 across the nation in a talent search for Big Machine Label out of Nashville.[4] She made the tough decision not to sign the contract to continue further in the competition. Her value for her music and herself was her reasoning; giving herself and her music to a label at the wrong time could be detrimental to her career. She is not opposed to record labels, only wants to be cautious.
She has opened for artists that she really respects such as Tank and the Bangas and Marc Broussard. In February 2017, she toured with Marc Broussard in the southeast of the US. She plans to continue traveling and promoting "I Shall Climb This Mountain."[5]
