Dewey Glen Meadows, better known as Bucky Meadows (born June 26, 1937) was an American session musician and actor. He is best known for his work with Willie Nelson.

Career[edit]

Bucky began his career in the early 1950s as a teenager, he had a prolific session playing career with Starday Records. Later he befriended Willie Nelson and joined his band Family (Willie Nelson's band) to play guitar on the 2x Multi-Platinum selling album Red Headed Stranger in 1975.

Bucky was close friends with Asleep at the Wheel and played guitar on a number of their albums.

He had a difficult time finding work in the 1980s and when he had nowhere else to go, Willie Nelson gave him a place to live on his property near Austin, Texas.

Bucky appears as an extra in the film The Ballad of the Sad Cafe (film) and can be seen playing guitar on Willie Nelson's "The Great Outlaw Valentine Concert" film.

Bucky lived on Willie's property until he died in 1998.
