Chibuike Promise Obi (born 7 March 2000), better known by his stage name Buike, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, rapper, performing artist and a social media personality.[1]
Early life
Chibuike Promise Obi was born in Anambra State. Buike lived with his parents while growing up; he originally hails from Isuochi, a community located in Umu-Nneochi Local Government Area (LGA) in Abia State, Nigeria.[2]
Career
In 2017, Buike began his music career in Anambra State, and is an indigenous rapper. His freestyle on Facebook and TikTok went viral in 2020. To fund his music career, Buike started learning skills.[3]
He started releasing songs from 2020, with songs such as "Wetin Go Be, Go Be" being his first official song on platforms, followed by "My Baby" and "Nwannem".[4]
In March 2023, Buike dropped his debut single titled "Boss"[5], an Afrobeats song which passes a message about having self-confidence.[6][7]His song made good numbers of streams and got on playlists in streaming platforms and social media platforms.[8]
