Kevin Howard (born January 15th, 1990) better known by his stage name Cali Kev is an American rapper and songwriter from San Diego, CA. He has released four projects since 2016 and he is best known for his concept album "1-900-CALI-KEV on Spotify in 2017 he released his 2nd album "No Salary Cap" .
He signed to BR8VE Entertainment, is known for being the founder "The AuxGod". Howard has released three albums since 2018, KevnGOTGroupies, No Salary Cap, and most recently 1-900-CALI-KEV, all to mainly positive critical reception.
Early life[edit]
Kevin Howard was born on January 15, 1990 and is of Afro-Panamanian descent. Howard started rapping in elementary school and began to go to a local friends house after school to record music.
He spent his youth reading thesauruses and dictionaries to further his vocabulary. At the mere young age of Nine years old, Kev seemed to have known that creating things was his passion. At this age, he was obsessed with learning how to craft any and everything he could possibly get his hands on. Kev attributes his interest in hip-hop to both of his parents, noting that his mother in particular would often play arde and Aaliyah aound the house. As he grew older, he took a serious interest in music, along with a friend, Trace, who was a rapper/producer.
Howard frequently participated in brawls and breaking & entering with his friends. About his upbringing, he said that he was given two options: "play sports or rap"
Career[edit]
In 2015, Cali Kev released "Backwood Convos" on Soundcloud. It became a viral hit, generating over three million views worldwide. Being close friends with rapper Poodeezy!, he also joined BR8VE ENT, or Brave Entertainment
In February 2017, Kev released the singles "Deebo" and "Mexico Mission" featuring Hardini. His second album No Salary Cap was released on May 15, 2017. It features two guest appearances from Poodeezy, Dollabillgates, YouthGod, Hardini, Regal, along with production credits from Mexico Merio. Four music videos were released to promote the album: "Reasonable Doubt", "Law Of Attraction", "2Badd", and "Madden 2004"
On March 25, 2018, Kev announced the title of his third studio album 1-900-CALI-KEV and revealed its original release date, November 11. After working on other ventures, on April 14, 2019, Kev released his third album. On January 27th 2020, It was nominated for Best Hip Hop/ Rap Album at the San Diego Music Awards
On January 24th, 2020 Kev released a follow up EP titled "CALL NOW!". The next day he revealed the title of his upcoming fourth album "Days Before Super Bowl" which is expected to be released July18, 2020
The AuxGod[edit]
AuxGod (often abbreviated as TheOxGod) is a website that focuses on music, sports, entertainment and wrestling culture sharing rare videos from all different generations. It is a content-aggregating platform founded in 2015, the twitter account averages 800 unique visitors a day. AuxGod has been credited for unlocking the door to viral nostalgic content.
On the twitter account, AuxGod post various things for the 90's and 2000's such as music videos, sports clips, TV show intros, commercials, and vintage wrestling matches. The AuxGod has demonstrated a strong passion for promoting undiscovered music artists, particularly from disadvantaged communities. His efforts include investing in talent and helping artists get recognized by successful record labels. As a result of his efforts, AuxGod has become an inspiration to his followers and is quickly becoming a staple in Hip-Hop.

Kev has stated in interviews that his influences stem from Sade, Cam'ron, Mac Dre, Cash Money Millionaires, Gucci Mane, No Limit, Curren$y, and Aaliyah.
