Capital Market Laboratories is a market research firm.[1][1][2] It is based in Los Angeles, California.[3][4][5]

History[edit]

Capital Market Laboratories was founded by Ophir Gottlieb, James Kaplan[6][7], and Thomas White in 2014.[8][9] Initially, it was focused on developing data visualization tools.[10] Ophir Gottlieb is the current chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.[11][12]

The founders previously worked at GMI Ratings. White and Gottlieb co-invented the Accounting and Governance Risk Model (AGR), along with David Stoner and Eliot Clingman.[13][14][8] Additionally, while employed by GMI Ratings, Ophir Gottlieb published his findings in a scholarly journal of Rotman School of Management, making use of artificial intelligence (AI) and neural networks to forecast equity returns.[15] The FAM model was presented publicly at the CFA Institute's annual conference in 2019.[16]
